Fee and Billing Related Information

I mediate Half-Day and Full-Day cases;

  • The Full-Day fee covers up to 10 hours of work, which includes 7-8 hours of mediation time, with 2-3 hours being utilized to review your written submissions, as well as pre-mediation telephone conference(s) to make the best use of our time.

  • My Half-Day fee covers up to 5 hours, with 3-4 hours being allotted to the mediation itself, and the remainder being utilized to review the written submissions, as well as pre-mediation telephone conference(s) to make the best use of our mediation time. If we finish early (which almost never happens), there is no refund for unused time, on either the Half-Day or the Full-Day rates.

  • My Half-Day rate is $4,000.00, plus any travel expenses. My Full-Day rate is $7,500.00, plus any travel expenses. My Full-Day rate for Class and Mass Tort actions is $12,000.00, plus travel expenses, and I do not offer Half-Day sessions in such cases, without prior approval.

  • A $250.00 case management fee will apply to all cases, except Class and Mass Tort actions, which require a $500.00 administration fee. This administrative fee is non-refundable.

  • Payment in full for reserved dates is due 14 days after confirmation of the reserved dates. Unless there is a written agreement between the parties stating otherwise, the fee shall be borne equally between the parties.

  • If preparation time exceeds that outlined above, or if follow up sessions, emails, phone calls, etc. are necessary, and they go beyond the amount of time discussed above, the additional time will be billed at $800.00 per hour. Any Supplemental Bill will be billed equally between all of the parties, unless there is a written agreement between the parties stating otherwise. Any sessions that go "over-time" will be billed at the discussed rate if over 10 hours for a Full- Day or 5 for a Half- Day.

  • My cancellation policy dictates that if the mediation is cancelled 10 calendar days or less before the scheduled mediation or arbitration date, the fees are non-refundable and are due and payable upon notice. If the mediation or arbitration is cancelled more than 10 days prior to its scheduled date, but less than 30 days prior to its scheduled date, 50% of the fee will be refunded. Notice (oral is fine or email) of more than 30 days will allow for a full refund. The fees are the responsibility of the party or parties requesting the cancellation. All fees will be refunded if, for any reason, I need to cancel the mediation.

  • Full-Day mediations generally begin at 9:00 a.m., but can be rearranged to accommodate the parties and representatives needs.
